Ireland

When visiting another EU member state, you are required to abide by the prevailing rules and practices of that country. Travellers often come across rules that are quite different to those in their home country, and it may be difficult to find out about these in advance.

Holiday rentals
Holiday homes are generally booked on a weekly basis (usually Saturday to Saturday). In low season (November to March), other options may be available.
The standard of healthcare in Ireland is very good, but some planning before departure can save trouble afterwards.
Renting a car, or bringing a car when visiting is a very popular option in Ireland. Below you will find some useful information relating to driving.

Travelling by plane

In practice, you will need your passport to travel to and from Ireland, unless you are a citizen of the United Kingdom, in which case you will need an official ID with photograph e.g. driving licence.
