Thus, in some cases it can be more difficult to bring a complaint when you choose a dentist in another European country. It is also possible that a complaint will involve extra travel expenses, because you will have to go back to the dentist and have the problem fixed.

If you have a complaint concerning the treatment you have received from a European dentist, you should always contact the dentist first. The dentist must then consider how to correct the problem. If you cannot reach a solution with the dentist, your options for bringing a complaint depend on the complaints system in the country in question.

European Consumer Centre Denmark has compiled information on your options for bringing complaints in the following countries:

Complaints filed with a European Consumer Centre

You can always file a complaint with the European Consumer Centre in your own country. The Centre will then forward your complaint to the European Consumer Centre in the country in which the dentist practices. Your own European Consumer Centre will then make sure that the complaint is handled by the correct body.
