Buying on trips outside the EU

If you have been abroad and want to import goods into Denmark, you are subject to some rules setting out how much you may bring in without paying customs duty and excise duties.

Cigarettes 200 pieces
or  
Cigarillos  100 pieces
or
Cigars 50 pieces
or
Tobacco 250 grams
Spirits 1 litre
or
Dessert wine 2 liters 
Table wine  4 liters
Beer 16 liters
Motor fuel  10 liters

To import tobaccos, spirits and wine from non EU countries you must be 17 years old.

In the case of goods other than those mentioned above you may bring in goods for personal use at a total value of not more than DKK 3,250 without paying customs duty and excise duties if you arrive by plane or ship from a non EU country. If you have travelled by car, coach or train from a non EU country, you may import goods into Denmark for DKK 2,250.

If you bring in goods which are to be examined and cleared or if you are in doubt as to whether the goods are to be examined and cleared you should contact the customs clearance office. Contact SKAT’s customs clearance offices (only available in Danish).
