Right of complaint for replaced goods

Article

If, after a purchase in Denmark, you have obtained replacement of goods because of defects, a new two-year time-limit for complaints will run for the replaced goods from the date of replacement.

The same is true in several other EU countries but not necessarily all.

If a foreign seller rejects a complaint relating to replaced goods, referring to the fact that the original two-year time-limit has expired, we recommend that you contact the European Consumer Centre to clarify what rights you have in that situation.

If, instead of replacement, the goods are repaired and the same defect arises once more you may, in Denmark, make a complaint concerning this defect within three years after the repair was carried out. If you have traded in another EU country, the rules of the individual countries will prescribe what applies in that situation.
