Article

The object of a price guarantee is typically to ensure that the consumer can obtain payment of the price difference if she can buy the goods cheaper elsewhere.

A price guarantee may very well and will often include some conditions and restrictions, typically time and geographical restrictions as well as reservations in respect of special offers from competitors. In addition, price guarantees are often confined to comparisons with purchases in other physical shops and hence not purchases on the Internet.

The conditions and restrictions that apply to the guarantee must be stated clearly and explicitly so that the customers do not doubt what the guarantee is about.
